Transformation at Martinistad BMW & MINI
Autobedrijf Martinistad B.V., who has been the leading BMW and MINI dealer in Groningen for many years, has recently undergone an extensive building renovation programme. Now that the work is finished, Martinistad will be reopening its doors and holding a week-long celebration from 24 to 31 October.
The rebuilding work was needed in order make the premises look more in keeping with the needs of today and the future. This look excellently highlights the brand philosophy of BMW and MINI. BMW has introduced its ‘Future Retail Concept’ worldwide, and the building has been brought up to date in accordance with this concept. The exterior stands out on account of the neat white façade and the joy banner, depicting far and wide the fun and enjoyment experienced by BMW users. The interior design is also particularly striking, with sales employees sitting behind a desk, or helping customers design their cars with the help of a large LED screen in one of the consultation lounges. Customers who come to have their vehicles serviced or repaired are welcomed at one of the service desks, and while they wait for the work to be carried out on their cars can order a hot or cold drink, or watch the video images that are shown. Wireless internet is also available. In short, there is a premium ambience that is in keeping with a Premium brand like BMW. A separate showroom has been built for MINI with its own entrance, entirely in the ‘look and feel’ of the MINI style. This enhances the image and brand perception.
The workshop has been enlarged to the tune of 200 square metres, making it easier to respond more effectively to the continued growth in the number of BMW and MINI users.
Servicing of electric vehicles has already been available at Martinistad for some time, but these vehicles can now also be purchased there, following the designation of Martinistad as the Northern Netherlands Sales and Service dealer for electrically powered vehicles by BMW Group Nederland. The range of models consists of the i3, the first BMW model to be designed to be electrically powered from the drawing table, and the i8, the future-oriented interpretation of a sports car.
