Brezan acquires Dedeyne Technics
Brezan Autoparts has acquired Dedeyne Technics, Belgian wholesalers located in Oostkamp. Dedeyne’s car parts division will be integrated into Brezan’s Bruges branch.
Founded in 1981, Dedeyne Technics is a household name in the Bruges automobile scene. The company was owned by Mr and Mrs Depypere. Mr Depypere will continue to operate the car repair branch of the company, while the car parts division will be integrated into Brezan’s operations. Dagmar Depypere and her colleague will relocate to Brezan Bruges to lead the Brezan team.
Strong logistics supported by scale
The acquisition of Dedeyne Technics sees Brezan is the next step towards strengthening its position in the Belgian wholesale industry. Brezan also recently acquired the wholesale branches of USN-Centuri, while PartsPoint Group – Brezan’s parent company – also acquired wholesale conglomerates Staadegaard Automotive and Technische Centrale based in North Brabant and Limburg. In the same period, PartsPoint also secured a controlling interest in wholesale organisation AD Nederland B.V.. These developments allow the subsidiaries of PartsPoint to reap the benefits of scale, such as in the fields of purchasing and logistics, as CEO Cor Baltus explains. ‘It allows us to supply parts to the automobile industry quickly, efficiently and under terms that benefit our customers. The scale has also enabled us to update our logistical infrastructure, with 60 depots in the Netherlands and Belgium resulting in massive improvements to same-day availability’.
Relocation soon to be completed
Brezan already has a branch in the Bruges region – just 12 kilometres from Dedeyne, on the Kleine Monnikenwerve 32 in Bruges. Combining these two locations will create a major sales outlet at the burgeoning Brezan location. Relocation of the car parts division will be completed in the coming weeks. With the exception of this car parts division, customers will still be able to visit the Kortrijksestraat 74 location for all other services following relocation. The integration of Dedeyne will allow Brezan to become a key player in the Bruges region.
Following this acquisition and the integration of USN-Centuri, Brezan Autoparts now ranks in the top-ten Belgian wholesalers. Under 100% Belgian management, Brezan Autoparts has become a leading Belgian wholesale chain, despite its Dutch roots.
